My name is Ms. Burgess and I am a graduate student from RIT, studying to become an art teacher. I am originally from Bermuda, born and raised. I attended public school my whole life until the last two years of high school, I transferred to American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, CT. I was able to flourish and succeed among my deaf classmates. I graduated in 2008 and was accepted to RIT where I studied Fine Arts such as sculpture, printmaking and painting. Out of all media, I fell in love with printmaking. I enjoyed experimenting with the materials and the unexpected results of printmaking. I graduated in May 2013 with my BFA degree. This fall, I entered the Masters of Science in Teaching, Visual Arts graduate program. I am pleased to be student teaching at Allendale Columbia School and I am excited for this opportunity to work with Mrs. Oliveri and her students. I have observed for the past few months and I feel comfortable here. I cannot wait to experience teaching. I look forward to meeting you all!
I want to introduce you to my student teacher, Ms. Burgess. She will be starting on Monday, February 3rd. If you see her around campus please introduce yourself. I asked her to write a short introduction to tell you a little about herself.
