The seventh graders are working on a project that ties together Land Art (art made from nature), Tibetan buddhist mandalas, and Andy Goldsworthy. Their table had one computer with an image of a traditional Buddhist sand mandala and a great mandala website called, myoats.com. I also had a station set up which allowed parents and students to work together to make a giant collaborative mandala. I left out magazines, scissors, and glue sticks. Parents were directed to cut out 4 shapes and add them symmetrically to the mandala.
