This break might be slightly less eventful and perhaps a bit more work-filled. I will still attempt to share something everyday this week. In addition to updating more of our Social Network at AC this morning I watched a TED Talk. If you know me, you know how much I love learning. This is a long one, 20 minutes, but it talks about something we are all striving for, joy. Joy can be achieved in a curious way, through vulnerability. Brené Brown teaches us how to say, “I am enough.” To just be. To just be accepting.
Great talk! I haven’t watched the follow up but I hear it’s just as powerful. Here is a link. http://www.ted.com/talks/brene_brown_listening_to_shame.html My personal goal for the week is to try to watch at least one TED Talk per day. Any suggestions? Today I watched http://www.ted.com/talks/markham_nolan_how_to_separate_fact_and_fiction_online.html It was very good!
Thanks for sharing Amy!
Thanks for reading! I think you might like the Tim Brown TED Talk in my most recent post “Spring Break: Thursday.” Check it out!
I will do that!
I think you shared that Talk with me a while ago. I really enjoyed it. Great stuff!
love this one and the shame one. Her talks are among my favorites and Diana and I have been talking about them too.
I just watched the shame one this morning! Would love to have time to show these to Upper School students. I also think that everyone should watch the Amy Cudy Power Pose talk! Have you ever heard of, “One City, One Book?” I think we could have, “One School, One TED Talk.” What if everyone at AC watched the same TED Talk and applied it’s principles for one academic quarter? Which TED Talk would you choose first?
