My sixth graders spent their third quarter designing and creating these ceramic hybrid shoes. They chose a noun and a style of shoe to combine. Coincidentally, earlier in the day they had been talking about hybrids in their science class with Mrs. Guzzetta. They brainstormed 4 ideas and sketched them. After choosing their strongest idea and they created a full color drawing of the piece. The class was initially confused by the difference between sketches and drawings. Because of this we had a mini student led discussion to hash out the differences and similarities.
