The Prezi that I posted earlier in my NAEA post inspired me to make a few for my Printmaking unit. The 8th graders started working on this project last week. The process starts by introducing the premise of unconventional portraits (30 unconventional portraits that defy cliches). Students use the class set of Nikon DSLR cameras to experiment with lighting, portraiture, and depth of field. Once they choose an image they then Posterize it in Adobe Photoshop to 4 levels. The students then trace and incise each level to create a reduction print (more on that later).
