Shapes in Art: In Progress

We started this lesson by reading the book Eye Spy Shapes in Art  and let me tell you Kindergarteners LOVE playing eye spy! We had a blast looking for shapes and identifying them.

I asked the students what kind of paint we were using. I was hoping they might say watercolor since we used it for their last project. Nope. They said magic paint. Oh well, close enough! Then I asked what the paint was doing on top of the crayon and they said it was drying. What an interesting perspective, it does appear to be drying up and shrinking off of the crayon!
