Leo Lionni

For this lesson we read Leo Lionni books. Our favorite was “Nicolas, where have you been?” We spent time painting our own custom papers, tracing shapes, cutting them out, and glueing them together. When we were done each student had created a creature. I provided students with tracers to make alligators, birds, rabbits, mice, frogs, fish, all characters from the books we read. Each student then created a place for their creature.

this snake is painting the town brown in his sweet mustang coupe

i believe this was an earless mouse who lived at the top of a tree

this mouse lives at the fair, note the incredibly detailed ferris wheel in the background. also this is no ordinary mouse, he works hard for the money, with his handy hammer.
