Last week I needed a quick lesson for about half of the class while the rest caught up on their scratchboard projects. I handed out popsicle sticks and glue and we constructed houses. We talked about opposites and how to arrange the popsicle sticks with two facing right to left, and then the next two facing up and down, and repeat. This tied into a classroom lesson where the students were learning about opposites. Some students stacked their sticks high, some made roofs, some created floors.
